Faux Fur Joy

Hello Sparkles! It's the end of November...almost. The holidays are in full force, and it's by far my most favorite time of the year. I'm already festive, I think I was festive once Halloween rolled around.  I love enjoying the scenery and being in the kitchen with the hubs cooking our Thanksgiving meal!

Besides my flannels, my other favorite fall piece by far is my faux fur vest. I received this vest for Christmas from the hubster about 2 years ago, and I can't...stop....wearing it. I'm a huge fan of "add ons" because they take an outfit from 1 to 10 instantly. It's been getting super cold here in Colorado, so this vest has been a favorite for me lately. I wear it with any color, I really do. It's just been so fun to layer with and throw on some suede booties to finish it off. And besides that, this is PERFECT to put on your Christmas list!

Welcome back, Sparkles! I hope everyone is having a great week!

Note for fall: flannels and booties. I am not much of a "fall" person. I'm all about warm weather and long days. The less I have to wear, the better! Being in frigid weather is the real struggle, for real! I hate feeling "stuffed" with layers upon layers. I thought this flannel and LuLu's suede booties were the perfect transitional outfit for summer to fall. I bought both of these this summer online and I'm so thankful I did. I love the variety of ways I can wear flannels: buttoned, opened, tied around the waist, or underneath a vest. It's just so practical! 

P.S.- I literally wear these booties more than any shoe should be worn, honestly.

Breaking Spring

Hello Sparkles!

By the time you all read this I will be back at work and no longer on spring break! I lived in daisy dukes shorts and graphic tees all week. Except for that crazy Wednesday where we had both winter and spring in the same day! This is exactly why I love warm weather, simply because of the small amount of pieces needed to complete the look.  It's crazy how a few days off can make you feel. I loved being with my friends, trying new things, and visiting my old school and all my co workers who made me feel it at home. 

By the way, I got several compliments on my blog last week. Seriously, thank you to everyone who supports this establishment of mine. It really is my passion, my love, my heart.

Winter Accessories: Scarves

Happy Friday! I feel like I go through the week swimming in a deep sea; and when Friday arrives I come up for air. Even if I have a hectic weekend, the end of the work week is an accomplishment for me. I just really thank God for work. I hear others complaining of lack of work; and sometimes I complain of too much work. I'd rather have the latter.

Scarves are my favorite winter accessories thus far. I just began wearing hats and ear muffs, but scarves have been in the running a long time. I pulled a couple of favorites from my collection, old and new.

This is my newest scarf, my Steve Madden baby. And I am so sorry, but I can't find this newbie online anywhere, so I posted a similar one below. 

Plaid is always in, it's something I feel you can't go wrong with. My cool photographer gave me a new style with this one, it's called the "jacket scarf"... If you haven't notice, it grows into dark green, and eventually into black. It's my first ombre scarf!

I am always looking for versatility, but have it simply around my neck was enough for me

This is an oldie but the best goodie. Looooooove texture, people! And I swear, this one really does keep you warm, it is not just for looks, I promise! I thought this one paired well with my outfit as a simple but elegant addition to it. See how versatile it is? 

I hate buying pieces for my closet that I can only wear "once" or with a certain outfit. That is so stupid to me. And I am just a "specific piece" gal. I will mix and match until I'm blue in the face.

My Take On V-Day

I rarely turn down an opportunity for a good date night. But as I was thinking of plans for this Valentine's Day, I immediately felt exhausted. That's when I got the idea of just having a laid back, relaxing V-Day. I pitched a few things to the Hubster, and he was more than down.

I am going with a simple, everyday outfit for this Valentine's Day. But I still have to dress to the occasion. I adore this heart cardigan from Target, leave it to Tar-jay to have us set for special days.  For our activities, I won't be needing anything too fancy and I am pretty much okay with that.

We have small plans of doing a little day outing *it is supposed to be super nice Saturday* and some take out to enjoy our nice dinner at home. Heaven knows we do not want to be in the hustle and bustle of love crowds in the restaurant.

I have horrible shellac on my nails that needs to come off asap, but I am definitely pairing these two up to complete my look. 

In love with this cameo necklace my mom bought me while visiting here. It was at this cute boutique in Colorado Mills Mall. Such a classic, right? These things are difficult to find!

What do I enjoy about V-Day? The fact that it's a guarantee that I get to spend the whole day with my love with out any interruptions. Did you know I still get butterflies when I'm with him?

Every time I walk into Nordstrom Rack I feel lucky. I go in there determined, and I always walk out feeling like a winner. It is my favorite store and you will find that most of my garments come from there. I just find that it is a one stop shop, they have everything I need, and I know I am not going to get bad quality. Plus, everything is on sale!  I swear I should be a Nordstrom Rack promotor or something.

I got this BCBG jacket about a week before Christmas. I picked it up with about 4 others., and it is super special because my Husband gifted it to me. You know how when you try something on and no matter how many items you have left, you know that one that fits perfectly just has to be bought? That's how this was. I instantly fell in love with this piece. I live for the mix of textures it has, and trust me, it keeps me super warm. I also adore how different it is, which is one of the reasons I titled this post "We Are Young"...besides the shirt I am wearing. I always feel so hipster in this jacket, that's why I decided this American Eagle shirt would be perfect with it, along with my billabong skinny jeans (so old.) I then paired it with my Vans that was also gifted to me. 

It’s amazing how one outfit can make you feel like a totally different person, I wanted to jump on the Subway in New York with these garments…but that was impossible:) Happy Shopping friends!!
